This sounds like chaos....
How about relays but on an orienteering theme but with no order!

Add in time cut offs and you are racing against clock and others....

hehe - I seem to be on the flyer for this event... now who do I see about image rights! ;)

Seriously, sounds like a great event - it just seems a shame I can't make it!

I am sure the "Orientator 10Km" will be a fine race, and a great deal of fun. But to call, what is fundamentally an introduction to score orienteering an adventure race is blatantly misleading.

Excellent. We really enjoyed it. It wasn't too difficult to follow the map and find the markers. The challenging part was finding the best route. We would definitely do it again and will consider taking up orienteering. A great venue. Our children (5 and 7) would love to do a shorter version (probably with grandparents helping).

After a bad night with a nasty cold I nearly didn't make this, but I'm so glad I did. It really was great fun, and the organisation was excellent. everyone was so helpful and friendly so my two greatest fears - getting lost and coming last - were not realized. I'll be back next year, if there's another.

Two of us ran together and enjoyed the whole event - it made a real change to do some thinking as well as running. My son would also welcome a junior version of this or similar - he has run a couple of 4K's and was itching to give this a go today.
Thanks Toby another smooth bit of organisation.

One hell of an event. Friendly and fun highly recomended, and definitely is an Adventure Race. Getting lost has never been so fun

I did the event with my Son, we are 44 and 25 so our fitness levels are very different. We had a great time. The whole event was great fun and there was a good friendly atmosphere with everyone helping each other without losing the competetive edge. Perhaps not as gruelling as an 'adveture race' but certainly an adventure all the same. See you next year. Well done.

This was my third race (my first being the Hydro Active 5k in Hyde Park, 2nd being Hellrunner) and thoroughly enjoyed it & definately will be marked on my calender for next year. I started running recently with a view at participating in Adventure Races but this has whet my appetite for Orienteering! Well done for a good mornings entertainment & also for arranging the good weather!

Well I really enjoyed the Orientator - the organisation was nice and smooth, the electronic key thing worked just fine at the atmosphere was great. Running around chatting to people about where the bases were etc was a bit more sociable than a regular run - a nice change.

Toby - maybe you could offer a bit more guide to how the scoring works, it seems to be about timing and bases visited but some clarification would be helpful. Thanks.

Well done for fun event...even though we got lost and ran 2km further than others.

Turn this into adventure racing by doing 20 and 30 routes at night time! Helen says blindfolded but that is plain silly!
Good fun and more...makes a pleasent change to runs and triathlons..and I have done a few!

Awesome race! Lots of fun and good for people out for a run with a twist, the average runner looking to break up the monotony, and those folks sprinting the whole thing (I hate them). I highly recommend this event and hope that you do it more than once a year. Why not one in the spring to kick off the season?
